Volunteer Positions


  The Lowell All-Americans are a locally owned and operated non-profit community organization,   bringing the best in summer collegiate wooden-bat baseball to Lowell. We  rely heavily on a pool of   energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to help insure that the  Lowell All-Americans remain fun and   affordable for kids and families alike.

Intern Positions

 The All-Americans also have internships available all year round. Internships are not paid and are for   college credit or experience only. Opportunites are available in the  following areas:

Game Day Intern
A game day intern is expected to help out in all aspects of the organization. Duties may include: aiding in the day-to-day operations of the team, write press releases, assisting in the planning and running of events, as well as help out at the field on game nights. On game nights, they can do anything from helping with pre-game preparations, on-field events, taking tickets, selling merchandise, playing music at the field, taking pictures/video or filling in for people in the press box.

Mascot
The Mascot is a necessary part of any sports team. It is the responsibility of the mascot to greet fans, participate in games, and keep the fans entertained.

On-Field Personality
The On-Field Personality is responsible for coordinating on-field ceremonies, games and events. They will coordinate what games with take place on the field each night, and are responsible for recruiting participants for the games. The On-Field person is a key to creating energy in the park and keeping the crowd involved and entertained.

Public Address Announcer
The Public Address announcer is responsible for starting the game with the opening ceremony each night. They will announce the player at bat, player substitutions, as well as inning breakdowns. In between innings prepared scripts/spots will be read to the crowd. At the end of the game, there will be a brief rundown for the crowd and inform fans of upcoming events.

Play-By-Play/Color Commentator
The broadcaster is responsible for play-by-play and color commentary for each game. They will split the broadcasting duties with a broadcaster from the opposing team. Duties include setting up broadcast equipment for each game, preparing information on the players to use during the broadcast, reading commercials during breaks in play, writing press releases at the end of each game and various other duties.

Stat Intern
The stats person is responsible for scoring all home games and making sure player stats are correct. They are responsible for securing the lineups for both teams at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. Also responsible for making sure both lineups feature eligible players for that night. At the end of the game they must submit to the league the game files as well as wait for confirmation back that files have been received and are correct. They will also need to print out final score sheets for the opposing broadcaster and media in attendance.

Communications Intern
During the season they are responsible for writing press releases at the end of each game, making sure the release is sent to all neccessary media outlets, will write stories on the players to submit to local papers as well as players hometown paper, will assist in writing office correspondences, PA spots, should be willing to help at all levels of the organization.
